Petition · past parliament

Change school uniform to one that is comfortable, cheap, breathable, practical.

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

The Government should encourage a shift towards a different uniform by publicly advising schools to do so
A shirt, tie, blazer and dress trousers are uncomfortable to many students, while being unbearable to those with hypersensitivity. This uniform is a detriment to education according to the current accepted educational research around improving outcomes: the simple memory model. If students are too hot, uncomfortable, chafing, suffering a rash and/or feeling strangled along with other discomforts caused by the current uniform, this overloads the working memory and prevents focus on the work.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Government isn't responsible for setting individual school uniform policies, which are a matter for schools.
