What the petition asks
The Government should fund an awareness campaign to educate young and older women on the risks of pelvic organ prolapse, and more research into treating and managing the condition if it arises.
This campaign should ensure pregnant women are made more aware of the condition, how it can occur, and how to minimise risks.
Too many young and old women are suffering due to little knowledge or advice being given on the risks of pelvic conditions and can suffer long term due to this. For people with more severe symptoms, their options for treatment including pelvic floor exercises, physiotherapy, pessaries, or surgery to fix the issues which may only be temporary. I believe women need to be educated a young age to prevent or minimise risks of the terrible condition.
