Fund pay rises for teachers in line with inflation

What the petition asks
We believe that teachers should be paid fairly. As inflation rises, teachers' pay haven't increased at the same rate. Instead of increasing at 2-3% for the next two years, we believe it should be raised in line with inflation, and by 9.1% this year (matching the current inflation rate).
Everyone is entitled to an education as it equips them for later life. Teaching is hard work and the pay does not reflect that. As a consequence, there is a shortage of teachers. Politicians should respect teachers by paying them a fair wage.
