What the petition asks

For the Government to reduce the Fuel Duty Rates by 50% and reduce or remove VAT on fuel also.

For the UK Government to apply pressure on fuel corporations to reduce pricing on fuel, to reduce impact on individuals. In addition they should launch an investigation into pricing by the firms.
In short, as this space is limited, the largest fuel provider for vehicles in the UK is Exxon Mobil, the ultimate owner of Esso, who reported profits of $5.5bn (£4.4bn) during the first quarter of 2022, up from $2.7bn (£2.1bn) in the same period during 2021. (Chapman, 2022).
