Penalise potential Landlords for pulling out of an agreement without reason.

Rejected 17 signatures

What the petition asks

Potential tenants are charged the holding deposit fee if they decide to not go ahead with the tenancy.
Landlords should be should be held to the same standard, paying a fee for wasting time and money of the letting agent and tenants, as well as potentially leaving the tenants without a home.
While potential tenants are charged the holding deposit fee if they pull out, there is no fee for a landlord unjustly pulling out without reason.

While there are legitimate reasons to pull out of a tenancy, such as a potential tenants not passing references, the landlord should be held to the same standard as the tenants during the the process, and be charged a fee once an offer is accepted if they exit the agreement without just reason.
