Regulate and license equestrian livery yards

Closed 35 signatures

What the petition asks

The Government should create a regulator for equestrian livery yards/stables which requires them to hold a license in order to operate. These licenses should be dependent on the conditions below.
Licensed livery yards should be required to:

- limit the number of horses/ponies per acre to a certain maximum; and

- offer all-year-round turnout for horses under welfare grounds as they are naturally grazing animals.

We believe this licence would improve the welfare of horses and ponies both mentally and physically, and bring in a large tax revenue for the government. Animals’ welfare must be paramount.
