Let the people decide whether Boris Johnson should stay on as our Prime Minister

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

There has to be a change to how our democracy works. Like it or not, lots of people vote for party leaders, they vote for the PM and not their local MP. For a local MP to be able to go against the will of the people in order to further their own ambitions is twisted and disgraceful.
I am fed up with being told what I think and having my vote betrayed by those who represent us. You are destroying our democracy. I don’t insist that the PM remains in situ but I do insist that the people are consulted before he goes.

Why it was rejected

It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.

We can't accept petitions about appointments. This includes calling for a specific Minister to be given a, or removed from their, job, no matter how such a decision was reached.

You could have a petition calling for a Prime Minister only to be removed from office subject to a public vote, if that is something you'd like to see happen.
