Shorten high school lessons for ages 11-16
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
I want the government to shorten lessons to 30-40 minutes as in scientific research it shows kids from the age of 11-16 focus for 30 to 40 minutes.
I want them to do it (along with many other parents and kids) because then children and teenagers would focus for the full length of the lesson and would go from one lesson to another focusing for the full amount. A lot of people struggle to focus without a 2 minute or so break, to then go to another hour long lesson.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about the length of school lessons are a matter for individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament.
If you're concerned about the length of lessons at a particular school, you could raise this with the school or, if you are a student, your parents.
