Replace and up grade the water main supply to the Isle of Sheppey in Kent

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

insist that Southern water replace and upgrade the water main supply to the Isle of Sheppey in Kent due to the poor state of the existing pipe
In 2016 the main burst leaving the whole island without water for 2 days, this has now happened again in 2022 one burst was fixed this caused a second burst . the second burst was fixed and this caused more problems. They then had to shut the A 249 main road onto the island in order to install emergence pumps. They have done this in rush hour causing major traffic jams, we have had no water now for 2 days and no sign of getting any. and all this during a massive heat wave.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about maintenance of water supply are a matter for individual water suppliers, not the UK Government or Parliament.

If you are unhappy with your water supplier you can find out how to complain about this here: https://www.ofwat.gov.uk/regulated-companies/investigations/making-a-complaint/
