Make sanitary waste disposal facilities a requirement in CDM Regulations
Closed
1,816 signatures
What the petition asks
The Government should add a definition of ‘sanitary conveniences’ to the CDM Regulations which includes ‘sanitary waste disposal facilities’. The Government should also specify the minimum number of such facilities required.
Writing sanitary waste disposal facilities into CDM Regulations could help women feel more comfortable working in construction. Without proper sanitary disposal facilities, women are often forced to travel off-site to use the nearest facilities further increasing inequality within the construction industry. Inconsistent facilities are not something women should be worried about; changing the regulations and guidance could encourage more women to stay working in construction and engineering.
