What the petition asks
Since the American Supreme Court have over turned Roe V Wade, there have been many conversations regarding the protection of abortion rights within the United Kingdom. As a result, many women have been concerned about their right to bodily autonomy.
Over the past few months various Conservative MPs have come out saying they disagree with women having full right to bodily autonomy, as well as the British Government organised a multinational statement committing to fundamental rights of women and girls has been amended to remove references of sexual and reproductive rights - which is understandably is extremely alarming. We want to be ensured that as women, our right to body autonomy is secured.
