Remove premiums on shared ownership housing for first time buyers.

What the petition asks
The whole point in shared ownership is to help those with lower incomes to be able to get onto the property ladder by having a smaller deposit. Premiums (which must be paid on top of the deposit and cannot be added to the mortgage) are far to high which contradicts the point of shared ownership.
There is no one else to help with this as even the councils are adding premiums onto shared ownership housing. With the cost of living the way it is, owning a home has become impossible.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you're concerned about the cost of shared ownership properties, but we're not sure what you mean when you refer to a "premium" that is added to the price of shared ownership properties.
You could start a new petition explaining more clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
