Increase funding for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services

What the petition asks
We need more accessible mental health services for children and adolescents. Many people severely struggle but cannot access help quickly enough. People can wait for months to access CAMHS services. This is not good enough, and the Government must fund improved services with reduced waiting times.
- Around one in six young people have a mental health problem
- Suicide is one of the biggest killers in young people
- Around 75% of people with mental health problems may not get access to the treatment they need
- The amount of people asking for help increased from 1 in 9 to 1 in 6 but funding has only gone up by 4.4%
- The Isle of Wight spent almost ten times more money per child than Halton
In east and north Hertfordshire, 41% of referrals were closed before treatment
Demand is going up but funding has not matched this. More needs to be done.
