What the petition asks

The Government should create funding in the form of an interest-free loan repayable over (up to) ten years for people to spend on solar, heat pump or insulation projects as appropriate to their domestic situation (including community energy proposals).

We believe the current energy sector model is creating misery for millions and wrecking any hope of a decent future for future generations. Alternatives exist now to help tackle many of our problems regarding the climate, cost of living and long-term energy security.

This is a critical moment to incentivise people to transition. In the same time it will take to get new nuclear up and running we could reduce peoples' energy costs, massively boost UK-based industry and get a lot closer to meeting our net zero targets.
