Stop the closure of local bank branches.

What the petition asks
I am creating this petition to ask the UK government to stop the closure of bank branches in our towns.
People with disabilities, the elderly and unpaid carers can’t always travel further to get to their nearest branch and at the moment not everyone can afford the extra fuel needed for such travel. Also not everyone has the means or capacity to bank online, but banks and staff are constantly pressuring customers to take up online banking. Banks are making huge profits, so why the need to close more and more local branches?
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This is a decision for individual banks.
