What the petition asks
Make it a Legal obligation that any politician must declare any shares and earnings form oil and gas companies including energy suppliers.
With the ever increasing costs to the public for all energy supplies. It’s only fair that anyone in public office declares any income from this sector. Using Tax payer money to fund any rebate or help, whilst knowing they’re reviving income from this sector is immoral.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
MPs are already require to declare all earnings, and only shareholdings that are worth more than £70k, or amount to more than 15% of total shares in a company.
We could accept a petition calling for MPs to be required to declare all shareholdings, if that's what you want to happen.
