Have a general election

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

To hold a general election now
Because the people of this country did not vote for either candidate running for prime minister now

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition which calls for the same action: Call an immediate general election to end the chaos of the current government

A General Election gives constituents the opportunity to vote for their local MP, but in the UK the Prime Minister is not directly elected. The Prime Minister is normally the leader of the party that wins the most seats at a general election.
