Petition · past parliament
Government to clarify whether Freeports are intended to become Charter Cities.
Rejected
11 signatures
What the petition asks
Clarification is needed as to how Freeports will differ from Charter Cities.
Freeports are generally tax free ports. Many of ours are far inland, have zones which extend far beyond what is needed for a port, and include major river sources and national parks. Charter Cities can be owned by foreign entities and have their own legislation.
Why it was rejected
