Reinstate NHS dentist contracts with dental surgeries

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Times are tough right now and getting a dentist appointment is a basic right, in my area, there are no NHS dentist appointments within a 50 mile radius
I pay national insurance and have done since I was 16, dental check ups are part of basic needs and should be available on the NHS, just like doctor appointments. I should not have to pay a stupid amount for mouth hygiene. I have been with a NHS dentist since I was born, but they have now decided to become private only and finding another NHS appointment is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This is an operational decision for the NHS.

We could accept a petition calling for increased funding for NHS dental places, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
