Make protective clothing and equipment available to security guards by law.

What the petition asks
Security guards are being assaulted more and more in recent years. We want to be able to have a bit more protection to protect us from physical injury. Security Guards should be be given stab vests and other protective equipment to help keep physical injury to a minimum.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about the equipment provided to security staff are a matter for individual employers, not the UK Government or Parliament.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to require all licensed security staff to wear certain equipment while on duty. Provision of this equipment would be a matter for individual security workers and their employers, not the Government or Parliament.
