What the petition asks
Sport is the bedrock of communities and plays a vital role in the form of an individuals physical and mental well-being. The importance was clearly demonstrated throughout the pandemic with many individuals turning to sport and physical activity to help with there mental health.
A survey found 80 % of people were concerned about the cost of living crisis will affect their ability to pay for their son or daughter to participate in sport. A range of physical and mental benefits came from sport. We’ve had one health crisis ( COVID 19) and we don’t want another. The government needs to help struggling families and their children to stay active in sport during the unprecedented times. Inspire a generation to be fit and health and not to have health issues.
