Include a right to claim asylum in the Bill of Rights Bill

What the petition asks
The Government has introduced legislation to scrap the Human Rights Act and replace it with a Bill of Rights. This is happening weeks after the deportation of asylum seekers from the UK to Rwanda was blocked by the ECHR. It’s imperative that a Right to Asylum is enshrined in new legislation.
We believe a Right to Asylum is a Human Right. There are serious concerns that the Government's plans to reform human rights legislation will reduce human rights protections, including for asylum seekers. We believe the Government should enshrine a right to claim asylum in the Bill of Rights, to ensure this group is protected.
