What the petition asks
Make it a legal requirement for products to show recycling information on the front of packaging, utilising a traffic light system, alongside health information.
Too often it is easy for people to not fully understand how and what to recycle. The traffic light system for nutrition works well!

A traffic light system on the front of packaging to show ease of recycling as a legal requirement. For example: Green for majority of packaging widely recycled. Yellow for less than half of packaging recyclable or only recycled at larger facilities. Red for 25% or less recyclable.
This will allow consumers to make a quick decision at a glance when shopping to make good choices. It will not solve the problem, recycling facilities need improvement and plastic alternative options need exploring
