Petition · past parliament
To remodel Parliament Square as a Memorial to Queen Elizabeth II.
Rejected
9 signatures
What the petition asks
To commission plans to remodel Parliament Square as a Memorial to our Late Sovereign Queen Elizabeth II. A place of focus between Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Supreme Court and the Foreign Office.
Parliament Square has no memorial in its centre and therefore provides a site at the heart of the capital where a Memorial can take centre stage rather than trying to integrate a Memorial into other existing settings.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Parliament Square Garden is the responsibility of the Mayor of London and London Assembly, not the Government or House of Commons.
