Queen Elizabeth II deserves a better location for her statue/memorial.

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

To not proceed with the 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square as the location for Queen Elizabeth II statue/memorial.
The late great Queen Elizabeth II deserves so much more of a better tribute for her many years of service for the country than to be given a statue on the 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square.

The 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square is tucked in the corner of the London landmark and not the most public facing location.

Historically Trafalgar Square is not a royal location for statue's, it is more connected to military.

A royal location is required, not the temporary 4th plinth.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We understand you'd like for the nation to find an appropriate way to remember Queen Elizabeth II and to celebrate her life, but any decisions on how to officially mark her life will be taken in conjunction with the Royal Family, rather than by petitions. The UK Government is also not responsible for memorials about what is displayed in Trafalgar Square - this is a matter for the Mayor of London and London Assembly.
