Rename the National Memorial Arboretum after Queen Elizabeth II
Rejected
13 signatures
What the petition asks
Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was held in particular esteem with members of the Armed Forces and Veterans and likewise was very close to the armed forces. The National Memorial Arboretum should be renamed The Queen Elizabeth ii National Memorial Arboretum
Given all military and civil defence personnel serve the Crown it would be entirely appropriate way of marking Her Late Majesty's long reign to have the National Memorial Arboretum renamed in her honour
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Decisions about who is honoured at the National Memorial Arboretum is a matter for the Arboretum and the Royal British Legion, not the Government or House of Commons.
