What the petition asks
We ask the Government to fund the following:
- Sensitivity training for health care staff, including reviewing terminology used.
- Evening and weekend ultrasound scans
- Specialist bereavement and mental health support for families within the hospital
- 4 weeks full pay miscarriage leave for parents
Experiencing Baby Loss such as a miscarriage or stillbirth is a horrendous and life-changing experience for any parent. This experience is made worse with unsupportive medical advice from health care professionals and waiting 2 days for a scan to find out if your baby is alive or not. Funding these services would provide improved support for families and, the bereavement support in particular, would help parents to better process the emotions of baby loss.
