Ban e scooters
Rejected
11 signatures
What the petition asks
Ban e scooters on pavements and enforce severe fines for those who do and / or community service.
E scooters are dangerous and used irresponsibly by their users on most occasions.
They must be banned to keep our pavements safe.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Currently the only e-scooters it is legal to use on public roads are those that are part of local rental trials. The use of privately owned e-scooters on public roads is already illegal. If you want the Government to stop the local e-scooter trials, we could accept a petition requesting this.
Decisions about investigating and prosecuting alleged crimes, including traffic offences involving e-scooters, are a matter for the police and Crown Prosecution Service, not the Government or Parliament.
