Bring enforcement/fines for littering on our beaches
Rejected

What the petition asks
We would like to make it mandatory that littering on our beaches and coastal areas is an offence
Our sea life is Dying. Whilst trying to help with this there is also an ongoing problem with littering on our beaches, where does the litter go? Back into the sea, fishing lines, human rubbish etc and our beaches are becoming so contaminated with plastics. We need it to be an offence to litter our seas and beaches, to impose fines for it like we do inland.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Littering is already an offence. Taking action to tackle littering is the responsibility of individual local authorities and police forces, not the Government or Parliament.
