Remove chains from Africa Motif on the Foreign Commonwealth Office building

What the petition asks
To set in motion plans to, and remove the chains and shackles from the Africa motif that adorns the Foreign Commonwealth building in Whitehall.
While slavery has been abolished in law, we believe that the Empire has instilled, by the sheer audacity of having the Africa motif in chains and shackles on the Foreign Commonwealth Office building, a pattern of dominance that still enslaves us. By removing the chains and shackles this motif will no longer serve as a symbol of domination, but one of liberation for the continent of Africa. We find the chains and shackles that currently adorn Africa a constant insult and reminder of Europe's domination.
