What the petition asks

To help stimulate the economy, I think it would be a good idea to reduce or abolish VAT.
Reducing or abolishing VAT would bring down prices, particularly of fuel. Fuel costs are why food is so expensive. At the moment people are finding it hard to keep up with rising prices, by bringing them down people will spend more and get money moving in the econoomy.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
