Allow parents to use their children's tax-free personal allowance

What the petition asks
Everyone in the UK has a tax-free personal allowance, which helps to ensure that their income can support them.
However, in most situations, children do not earn enough income to support themselves; they rely on their parents' income after tax.
Most children rely on their parents' income after tax. This means parents have the same tax allowance as those without children, but incur more costs because they are supporting two or more people.
Given the cost of living crisis, we believe it would be fairer on parents if they were allowed to use the tax-free personal allowance of any children who they are raising.
This should be better for our children, better for parents, and better for our future!
