Ban transparent plastic windows from food packaging
Closed
45 signatures
What the petition asks
Make it mandatory for all UK-based food manufacturers to remove the transparent plastic "windows" on food packaging, as they are often non-recyclable and we believe they are unnecessary, given images of the food contained can be included on the packaging.
We believe this could make a useful contribution to reducing carbon emissions and excess waste in the UK, helping us to reach net zero carbon emissions sooner and help avert climate disaster. Customers could be more at peace of mind knowing that their lunchtime sandwiches are having less of an impact on the earth.
