Abolish residential unadopted roads

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

Adoption of all currently unadopted roads that have residents living on.
We pay council tax and road tax.
Our road is lit by the County Council and trashed by school traffic and delivery vehicles…. Yet it is our responsibility to repair it!! I strongly believe this to be wrong and discriminatory.
All County Counvils should adopt and maintain residential street lit roads.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about adopting new existing roads are a matter for individual highway authorities, not the UK Government or Parliament.

You could raise your issue with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here: https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
