Amend the list of needs in the Animal Welfare Act 2006 Section 9(2)

What the petition asks
We want the Government to amend Section 9(2) of the Animal Welfare Act to replace the current list of needs with:
- biological needs
- emotional needs
- social needs
- force-free training needs
- cognitive needs
We believe this will better reflect the full welfare needs of animals.
We believe the current content of the Animal Welfare Act 2006 are not adequate, and means that there are cases where an animal's welfare is not being adequately met, but that the neglect is not covered by the current law.
Amending this legislation should help ensure that animal welfare officers and charities are better able to take action to protect animal welfare.
