What the petition asks
We want the Government to create an action plan to raise awareness of hearing loss and tinnitus and improve support and prevention.
I'm deaf and I want to raise awareness of this disability, and want the Government to take action to support those that have it and help prevent others getting it.
Actions the Government should consider including in its action plan include: mandatory training on hearing loss in workplaces, hearing checks in all schools/colleges, teaching children BSL and safe sound levels, working with music and entertainment venues to promote ear plugs, new requirements for warning information about hearing loss/tinnitus for loud events, more funding for research into treatment and cures for hearing loss and tinnitus.
