Allow elderly parents of UK residents to live in the UK with private medical

Closed 290 signatures

What the petition asks

Allow elderly parents of UK tax payers to live in the UK on a family visa, with the condition of them using private medical and not having access to the NHS. Currently parents of UK residents can only access family visas in limited circumstances.
There are many UK residents who contribute a lot of money to the economy, yet sometimes feel unable to stay in the UK, as their elderly parents are ineligible to live in the UK with them. This can cause a loss in tax income for the UK.

Allowing elderly parents of UK residents to live in the UK would help incentivize them to stay, and if this is done with a restriction where they have to pay for private healthcare, this wouldn't add pressure to the NHS.
