Petition · past parliament

When a Prime Minister resigns it automatically triggers a General Election.

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

In recent years we've had 3 Prime Ministers who were not voted into office by the general public.

I think it's time the law was changed so a Prime Minister's resignation automatically triggers a General Election.
Too many times, particularly in recent times the country has been given a PM they did not vote for, in my opinion this is undemocratic.
