change the national minimum wage rates based on age to one universal rate
Rejected
14 signatures
What the petition asks
The national minimum wage is currently set at different rates which are age dependent. I on behalf of the people would like the government to review the National minimum rate to a universal minimum rate which is not based on age.
The equality Act 2010 says 'you mustn't be discriminated against because of your age. The Human rights Act explains that individuals will not be discriminated against based on age. however, the national minimum wage allows discrimination to occur against the youngest of society and a safety net is necessary to be put in place to prevent such discrimination to continue.
