What the petition asks
On the 20th October 2022 Liz Truss resigned as Prime Minister. The Conservative Party must understand at this point that their government is simply not working. I and many others do not want another prime minister that we have not voted for.
Prior to this petition, another with over 600,000 signatures was debated in Parliament on 17/10/2022.
The response was “The UK is a Parliamentary democracy and the Conservative Party remains the majority party. The Prime Minister has pledged to ensure opportunity and prosperity for all people and future generations”
With Truss’s resignation this pledge no longer stands and an immediate general election must be called.
