What the petition asks
To change the law so that In the event a current serving prime minister resigns or is forced to step down from there position a general election is called regardless of which party is in power. This is so that the people can determine who is the best choice to lead the country.
Currently the UK has had several unelected prime ministers some of which have done irreparable damage to the country, we must have a true democracy in which the people of the UK get to have the final say as to who runs the country on there behalf. This would restore some balance to the country and also give back to the people some faith and belief in democracy.
