Require climate and working standards label on all clothes

What the petition asks
The Government should introduce new labelling requirements so people have ready access to information about the social and climate impact of their clothes.
This label should include: water usage, CO2 + equivalent emissions, and an indicator of manufacturing working conditions.
Fast fashion in 2020 accounted for 8-10% of global emissions and nearly 20% of wastewater. (BBC 11/03/2020)
New hyper-fast fashion brands are making hundreds of thousands of different garments, with apparently no regard for the impact of production. These brands sell millions of garments to people who may never consider their impact due to the lack of public education on the topic. Mandatory labelling requirements would enable consumers to make ethical choices.
