Reintroduce the Health and Social Care Levy

What the petition asks
Reinstate the Government's specific levy to increase funding for health and social care, to address long-standing funding deficits and inadequacies in these sectors, and help them recover following the impact of Covid.
The gross inadequacies of the social care system have been a running sore for decades, a problem which both major parties have neglected.
The UK's population is ageing, so every year of neglect allows the problems to worsen. At the last General Election a plan to address these problems was promised, and later a funding plan was introduced. But now these provisions have been withdrawn.
The UK's NHS has been tested almost to destruction by the Covid pandemic, and needs additional funding to recover.
