Petition · past parliament
If a Government member resigns their position, they can never hold it again

What the petition asks
Pretty self explanatory but if a government minister resigns their position (e.g. as Home Secretary, Chancellor, PM etc), they should then never qualify for that position again
Whether they resigned willingly or were forced to, they clearly did such a poor job that they had to go, so it should be that they are barred from holding that position ever again. If this was like any other job you had to leave, you would never go & get hired again in the exact same capacity!, so why is it that for government
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We not sure if you'd like this only to apply to Ministers who resign from Government, or for Ministers who are also sacked.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
