Petition · past parliament

Make all British trained dentists accept at least 25% NHS patients.

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

In the same way that all new housing developments must include social housing, all UK trained dentists must accept at least 25% NHS patients.
It's extremely difficult to find an NHS dentist accepting new patients. They are overwhelmed. There are many other dental practices that are only accepting private patients. People are in pain and unable to find the help they need.
If you can't make it mandatory, a possible approach might be to offer UK dental students a reduction in, or removal of study fees as an incentive.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The decision to take on more NHS patients is a matter for individual providers and is not the responsibility of the Government
