Petition · past parliament
Take action now to reduce UK emissions by 50% by 2030 to avoid climate disaster

What the petition asks
The UN is warning that unless emissions are cut in half by 2030 there will be a climate catastrophe. Follow UK Committee on Climate Change recommendations. Do not grant new fossil fuel licenses, invest in green technology including energy storage and reintroduce green incentives.
I cannot sit idly by and watch the lack of focus on climate issues. There are daily reminders of the issues climate change is already causing and we are perilously close to some critical tipping points. I want my daughter to have a future. One where we are working to restore the world and not to continue with a growth at any cost mentality.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
The Government is already working towards its commitment to reduce emissions in 2030 by at least 68% compared to 1990 levels.
