What the petition asks
We the working fathers and mothers will pay this back by way of income taxes and national insurance. 712,860 babies born in the UK in 2019, 712,860 mothers and/or fathers would be struggling most likely for 3 years before they are entitled to the free 30 hours childcare/nursery.
If one mother goes back to work on full time basis, generate an average of 25k in income for the family, pay about £4K in tax and NI, in addition to the Employer's £2.3K NI contribution. There is also the likelihood for Net income to generate almost £4K in VAT. This income is enough to provide childcare support for 40h per week after maternity leave.
It should be given only to families that can prove they are in full time work adding up to 80h combined or 30h a week for a single parent.
