Petition · past parliament

No means testing of DLA/PIP, Carers Allowance and Attendance Allowance.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Those with disabilities and those in receipt of carers or attendance allowance rely on these benefits to pay for everyday costs. Means testing of these benefits will greatly reduce the eligibility of already difficult to get benefits.
People are worried enough as it is with the current cost of living crisis without the added worry of suddenly having their benefits stopped because they don't meet any new eligibility criteria.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment and Attendance Allowance are not means tested, and the Government has not announced any plans to make these benefits means tested.

Carer's Allowance is subject to eligibility criteria including having earnings under £132 a week, and there have not been any announcements of plans to change the eligibility criteria for Carer's Allowance.
