Compulsory safe crossing points to be provided at all schools
Closed

What the petition asks
Make the provision of a safe crossing point (crossing patrol/zebra crossing/pelican crossing) outside every primary and secondary school mandatory, regardless of pedestrian/vehicle rations.
Justification of provision of safe crossing points for schools is determined on a pedestrian/vehicle ratio, which means schools with 'low traffic' do not qualify for a safe crossing.
The p/v ratio does not account for actual driver behaviour including, but not limited to, parking habits, accelerative speed and general speed within 20-30mph zones.
We petition government to write into law provision of safe crossings at all schools to prevent avoidable injury and death to schoolchildren.
