Introduce fines for social media sites that host scam adverts

What the petition asks
We want the Government to make social media sites financially accountable for hosting advertisements that turn out to be scams. Where it is found that an advert was a scam, any website hosting this should be subject to heavy fines.
Too many social media sites host adverts that turn out to be scams. Victims can end up losing significant sums of money, with no recourse.
Social media sites hosting adverts can and should check the veracity of advertisers before publishing ads. Fines for publishing adverts that turn out to be scams would create financial incentives to do so.
